Rampant spending the new norm

I am fascinated. Our city is up to its neck in debt, with serious issues facing us, and we have a bunch of politicians assuring us that we need a museum. We know how often they get things right, with nary an apology when it all goes wrong.

But hey, what's the problem? Common sense has been ditched as outdated and the new norm is rampant spending with no thought for tomorrow. So perhaps we should have two, just in case one isn't big enough.

No wonder people are fed up with voting. The servants have simply switched their morals and are determined to become our masters.

That about sums it up, when they are wrong (that is often) the response is always complete denial and totally ignoring all and anything that fails to fit in the predetermined and desired results as decided before it started to self justify doing it all. So reality never gets a look in on it.
