Tauranga lawyer Anna Pollett has been appointed Crown solicitor for Tauranga, Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson announced this week.

She takes over the role from Greg Hollister-Jones following his appointment to the District Court Bench in March 2017.

Anna says she has had a busy week leading up to the announcement, but is excited to get started in her new position.

'In terms of in the way Crown prosecutions are conducted in our region, I think it will very much be business as usual, but I'm also looking forward to all of the opportunities the role provides for our community.”

Anna has been in the Bay of Plenty since January 2015, and moved here for the role at Hollister-Jones Lellman, for the wonderful lifestyle that the Bay had to offer and to be closer to family.

Anna graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2002 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court in 2003.

Prior to her admission to the bar she was employed at Meredith Connell in Auckland conducting Crown and other public prosecutions.

She is an experienced criminal lawyer who has served 14 years as a Crown prosecutor, and has appeared for the Crown in a wide variety of criminal matters.

The law firm Hollister-Jones Lellman will support the delivery of Crown prosecution services to the Tauranga region.

The appointment will take effect from August 1, 2017.
