A high-speed chase through Tauranga streets has ended in a crash this afternoon.
The pursuit began on State Highway 29 at around 3.20pm, when a speeding vehicle fled from police.
A caller to the SunLive newsroom says she was about to cross Cameron Road near the RSA at around 3.30pm when a white Holden ‘flew past', narrowly missing her, followed by a police car.
The offending vehicle was eventually spiked, crashing on 22nd Avenue.
A police spokesperson says one person has since been taken into custody.
