This day in NZ history in 1855 New Zealand's first postage stamps went on sale.

These adhesive, non-perforated stamps for prepaid postage were the famous ‘Chalon Head' design, showing Queen Victoria in her coronation robes.

New Zealand was one of the first countries in the world to release stamps with images of the countryside, birds and animals.

Check out the rest of the weather wrap video which was filmed at Mount Main beach this morning. Have a great day!
