Tauranga MP Simon Bridges is encouraging members of his electorate to share their views and visions for Tauranga when he hosts his biannual MP Question Time.

'As the MP for Tauranga I think it is hugely important that constituents can tell me their views, share their concerns and find out my opinion on different issues.”

Simon will host the MP Question Time event at Daniels in the Park on Tuesday July 11, with all members of his electorate welcome.

'I regularly hold clinics at my office, as well as meet constituents at various events, but I feel this is also an important tool for me to hear what people think about different local issues.

'I am aware of various issues which residents feel strongly about, and these events give us a chance to discuss their views.

'It also gives me a chance to talk to people about what I have been up to both locally and in parliament.”

Topics which are generally covered during the event include, transport, education, housing and the economy.

Simons says he's looking forward to the varied questions and topics that will be discussed.

'I get a lot of positive feedback from these events, especially from people who might not otherwise get in touch with me or my office.”

The MP Question Time will be held at Daniels in the Park on July 11, from 6pm to 7.30pm.

In reality the likely result of such meetings is that Bridges may indicate he is listening but ultimately little will change despite the arrogant national government's political rhetoric. Oh, hang on a minute there is an election looming so there may be more promises in the goody bag!
