The inaugural 2017 IVF Va'a World Distance Championships is due to get underway in Tahiti today.
The team chose Tauranga as their training ground before heading to the championships this week.
The Bay of Plenty is being represented by two Tauranga women and two Rotorua women in the Master Women's Team.
