PM did leave country in better place

After reading the diatribe so eloquently composed by P Dolden (The Weekend Sun, June 16) I felt compelled to reply.

Sir John Key is not responsible for the deaths of the 29 miners at Pike River, nor is it his responsibility to retrieve their bodies. Like most people would expect, that task has been left to the experts. As for the rest of your letter I can only conclude you have a total dislike of our previous Prime Minister. Most, if not all, of the issues you raise are absolute rubbish. Forty thousand homeless, really? Home ownership beyond the reach of young New Zealanders – what is so different to when I was trying to buy our first home in the early 1980s with double digit interest rates. Your list goes on and on.

I mean, just what is it you wish to cut from any Budget in order to have your desired wish list? It is my considered opinion that our previous Prime Minister left this country in a far better place but so many people are too quick to forget and criticise rather then tell us all what they would have done instead.

John Key has done no favors for NZ. We are now a sepratist country going backwards.

.... as per my reply to P Dolden (16/6) , I could not believe that Mr Key nor any other Prime Minister from any other government in New Zealand solely is responsible for all these concerns. Clearly there is dislike for the Knight and indeed the National Party from the writer. I do look into the social and financial situation of similar countries as ours, and I haven't seen a reason to believe we are bad off at all. There are always many in need and indeed many who "think" they need (and haven't got), perhaps it's about balance, everyone cannot have everything they want..
