A body has been found in the vehicle police recovered from Lake Arapuni in the Waikato today.

The vehicle is a 2014 silver Ford Ranger missing Arohena woman Kim Richmond is believed to have been driving before disappearing on July 31, 2016.

There is a body in the truck, says Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson. Formal identification will await a post mortem to be carried out tomorrow.

In the light of today's discovery the police investigation into Kim's disappearance is ongoing.

Kim was wearing a Highlanders rugby jersey, blue jeans, brown leather jacket and brown leather boots and was last seen getting into her 2014 Ford Ranger utility, registration number HKD553, In July last year.

Kim Richmond is an ex Playcentre and PTA member, keen sportswoman, mother of 3 young school aged children, and a farming partner.
