A man is being treated for burns after being caught in an explosion in the Bay of Plenty.
Emergency services were called to an address in Opotiki at 2.20pm following reports of an explosion.
'The explosion is the result of a rubbish fire,” says Northern Fire Service communications shift manager Daniel Nicholson.
It's not known if the rubbish fire was outside or inside.
A fire service fire safety officer is at the scene.
Police have also been called to the scene.
