Weather to stamp its mark on matches

The last round of the Western Bay of Plenty Reserve and B Grade competitions this Saturday is likely to be strongly affected by the present wet weather.

In the advent of no play being possible in the Reserve Grade all teams will share ten points apiece.

This would mean the current WBOPCA Reserve Grade Championship top four, Lake Taupo CC, Whakatane United, Sikh Sports and defending title holders Te Puke, would all book berths in the Championship playoffs.

If Greerton and Tauranga Boys College miss a Championship berth they will move into the Plate One playoffs against the top two from the Plate qualifying rounds.

But the B Grade Championship playoff teams were found last weekend with a round to spare.

Wanderers finished at the top of the qualifying competition from Mount Maunganui, First Round winners in the Singh XI and the Tauranga Boys College thirds.
