Tauranga lotto player scoops $1M

Last night's First Division Lotto winner – and newly-minted millionaire – is very likely from Tauranga, as the winning ticket was sold at New World Brookfield.

Powerball was not struck and has rolled over to Wednesday night, where the jackpot will be $5.5 million.

Meanwhile, Strike Four also rolled over and will be $500,000 on Wednesday.

Anyone who bought their ticket from the above store should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at MyLotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ ticket-checker app.

Is SH2, between Katikati and Tauranga, a dangerous stretch of road?

Yes, there are too many cars on it and it’s not designed to handle that sort of traffic volume.
No, people just need to slow down and pay attention to their driving.
