Nitro Circus riders signed autographs and spoke to a queue of fans at the Warehouse Fraser Cove on Thursday.

It was the riders' only public appearance ahead of their Tauranga show at Baypark Stadium on Saturday.

Featuring 30 of the world's best extreme athletes in freestyle motocross, BMX and Skate, led by two of New Zealand's own, the only man in the world to have performed a quadruple backflip on a BMX, Jed ‘the warrior' Mildon and FMX World Champion, Levi Sherwood.

The blurb states the show includes a host of ridiculous contraptions being launched 50ft into the air, and that punters can expect to see the world's biggest and most dangerous stunts, in a fully choreographed, actions sports, theatrical spectacular.

Marketed as a once in a lifetime opportunity, the show's marketing manager Nathan Brown is still settling a social media complaints about show times being shorted.

'Event times can vary from show to show and a lot of that is based on weather issues,” says Nathan.

The Nelson show was 2 hrs 57 min, but the Invercargill show a week earlier was only 97 minutes because of weather.

'When the shows get cut it's the non-riding parts that get removed as well as the intermission, so less talking more riding.

'So that's how the show gets cut down. We get rid of non-essential parts, the intro gets halved by four minutes.

'On the ticketing website we only have a start time, we don't have a finish time, but Facebook events don't allow you to have a start time and not a finish time. So we tried to adjust that on the Facebook page unaware everybody would get notified, so we clarified why that time is varied.”

The indoor events have a strict showtime, but in New Zealand there has been up to an hour's difference in shows.

'But they are not missing anything,” says Nathan. 'What we try to do with a shortened down show is get everything done quicker, that's the best way to summarise it.”

There's no danger of the Tauranga show being shortened because of weather. Tauranga weather for Saturday afternoon is for sunshine and light winds.

The NZ Transport Agency is warning of traffic disruptions and delays from 10am until 6pm at Te Maunga because of the event.

Specific peak traffic periods to avoid are 11am until 2pm and from 4pm until 6pm. Non-event traffic is advised to use alternate routes.
