Out of class and into the Beehive?

Labour candidate for Tauranga Jan Tinneti.

High profile Merivale Primary School principal Jan Tinetti has been selected as the Labour Party candidate for Tauranga for the September 23 General Election.

Jan won the candidacy from Angela Warren-Clark, manager of Tauranga Women's refuge at a Labour Party selection meeting last night.

She lives locally with her family and has strong networks throughout Tauranga.

"I am pleased to be Labour's candidate for the 2017 election and I look forward to representing all of the Tauranga electorate in Parliament," says Jan Tinetti.

She will go up against National MP and cabinet minister Simon Bridges.

Labour Party president, Prof Nigel Haworth, said Jan joins a growing list of energetic and fresh candidates who will stand for Labour in 2017.

'Our focus is on electing a strong, Labour-led government next year that will rise to the challenge, back the Kiwi Dream and build a better New Zealand."

But i'm afraid that this is such a safe national seat that your efforts will be in vain.National could put up a monkey as a candidate and it would still win, go figure. The current member has done nothing for this city but he will still get the votes.Nine years national has been in government and in that nine years i never ever thought that i would see homeless kiwis in their own country, house and rent prices are just disgusting.Vote national for a brighter future that poser John key said.......YEAH RIGHT
