downplay this incident, can I please ask the parents of 2 x14 year old girls what they where doing at the beach at 12.30 am?.

Is it known..

that the girls were only 14? Of course, in an ideal world they should be safe from assault at any age and at any time. The world we live in however, means that we know that's not the case.

stop the victim blaming

Newsflash Jimmy Ehu. Teenage girls are allowed to walk on the beach at 12.30am. It is the four men assaulting them that are in the wrong.

Couldn't agree more. What sort of parents are we talking about here. Not excusing the poor decision of the girls either and DEFINITELY NOT excusing the behavior of the guys who felt they should take advantage of this situation. There are a lot of questions to be asked here. How do we know they were 14??

Fully agree with Jimmy

Although anyone should be safe at the beach or anywhere else at any time what sort of parent allows their young daughter out at that time of night. Totally irresponsible parenting and should be followed up.

Blame the girls

Judging by the comments on this site, we should be blaming the girls. Let's make them wear burquas. Then the men wont be tempted.

Holiday time

12.30 is not that late when on holiday. People sleep in so are awake later. Also there tends to be a few people around at the Mount at that time of year. Girls should be safe to go for a walk without being assaulted or judged.

come down off your throne!!, as I have seen on many occasions what happens around beaches during the " silly season" in the small hours, there is no way I would allow my 14 year old daughter to roam the sand!, and I can assure you i am no prude!, just asking a question, and let's get the entire story before dispersions are cast over the participants!!!!
