Re: Cycle lanes on Windsor Rd near Otumoetai College. I see Windsor Rd in the vicinity of Otumoetai College has been resealed recently. This is an excellent opportunity for Tauranga City Council to dispense with the ludicrously narrow cycle lanes painted on the road in this area. While these lanes might give the impression of providing greater safety for cyclists they actually create a dangerous hazard by implying to motorists that they can safely pass cyclists – who, in their mind, should be in the lanes – and by implying to cyclists that they should occupy the lanes. And will then run the risk of being 'doored”.
