The body of a 32-year-old man has been recovered from the Waikato River.
Shortly after 5pm last night, Taupo Police responded to reports that a man was in the water near the Huka Falls.
'The man was seen in the river before onlookers lost sight of him,” say police.
'Coastguard assisted police with the search for the man, and his body was discovered down river from where he was last seen.”
The Police Dive Squad was called to the scene to help in recovering his body.
The man's death is under investigation.
