Search warrants executed in Tauranga this morning were in connection with a methamphetamine dealing investigation.
A police spokesperson confirmed to SunLive that armed police were called in to help execute warrants at an address on Poike Road.
Armed police were also spotted at the end of Sapphire Street.
'With the aid of Tauranga AOS, search warrants were executed in relation to methamphetamine dealing.
'No charges have been laid and enquiries are continuing.”
The spokesperson says it's not unusual for armed police to be involved in this kind of 'pre-planned” operation.
