UPDATED: Armed police were called into to help execute multiple search warrants in Tauranga this morning.
Officers with assault rifles were spotted on Poike Road as a 'pre-planned” operation was carried out at 6.30am.
'It's not unusual for armed police to be involved in this kind of operation,” says a police spokesperson.
'I can imagine it would be a bit worrying to see men in black when you wake up, but it was all pre-planned.”
