He's a proud National man and once again Todd Muller will contest the Bay of Plenty electorate for the party he loves, when the New Zealand General Elections roll around in 2017.

'It's an absolute privilege to serve as your local MP, especially as someone who has lived here most of my life,” says Todd.

'I'll be running a strong campaign to ensure Bay of Plenty keeps its strong voice in the stable John Key National-led Government that has delivered a clear plan for New Zealand's future.”

The Bay of Plenty electorate surrounds Tauranga in a U-shape from Omokoroa in the west across to Papamoa in the east and features a diverse mix of coastal, urban, rural and commercial areas.

Todd was first elected in 2014, increasing National's Party Vote to more than 21,000, and says he's pleased to have been part of a Government which has delivered a lot for the region.

'We've opened the Tauranga Eastern Link, committed $529 million for the Tauranga Northern Link, invested in new school buildings in Papamoa College, Maungatapu, Welcome Bay, Golden Sands and Oropi Schools; plus announced a brand new school to be built in the Lakes.

'We've rolled out Ultra-Fast Broadband across the city and I have successfully advocated for more rural access, with more yet to come.”

Todd points out he's also worked hard alongside fellow Tauranga MP Simon Bridges for more investment in local hospitals to keep up with the region's growing population.

He's also taken a personal interest in highlighting and promoting some of the more challenging issues in the community, like domestic violence and emergency housing.

'On both areas I am proud of the investment we are directing to Tauranga and the Bay to help our most vulnerable.”

Todd believes since coming to power National has helped local manufacturers and small businesses grow, and the party is also making improvements to important local services like roads and schools.

'We're seeing results with the Bay the fastest growing regional economy, the fastest growing regional job market and more young people, families and our seniors are choosing to settle down here.”
