Girl rescued from Te Kaha

A 12 year old girl suffering a medical condition requiring immediate hospital care was flown from Te Kaha to Whakatane Hospital last night.

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to TeKaha at 6pm. The girl was stabilised by a Te Kaha medical centre doctor and St John paramedics before being flown to Whakatane hospital. The helicopter was called due to the location and distance by road to the nearest appropriate hospital.
