Did you see last night’s supermoon?

If you thought last night's full moon appeared larger than normal, than you're right.

Not only was the moon full last night, but it was closed to the horizon making it appear bigger than normal.

A supermoon is a full moon occurring when the moon is at its closest approach to earth on its elliptical orbit.

According to NASA Science, a supermoon, or perigee full moon, can be as much as 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter than an apogee full moon.
