Board members elected Michael Barnett as Chair of the eastern Bay of Plenty's economic development agency, Toi-EDA, at their meeting this week.

Michael has served for almost two years on Toi-EDA and has a good understanding of the huge potential this region has.

Michael is Chief Executive of Auckland Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He brings to the role extensive political connections and strong networks into business and industry.

He has significant skills and experience in economic development initiatives, including throughout the wider Bay of Plenty.

Board members acknowledged the significant contribution of former Chair, John Galbraith, who will continue to be involved as a trustee.
