People planning to walk around Mauao from Pilot Bay tomorrow will have to put their plans on hold.
Tauranga City Council will be closing the Pilot Bay end of the base track.
The closure is to allow for the removal of a tree and some other maintenance work.
'The track will be closed between Pilot Bay and the shelly beach on the Tanea Shelf,” says a statement from the Tauranga City Council.
'The rest of the track from the Main Beach round to the point by the statue remains open.”
