Car and mini tanker crash

UPDATED: A woman is receiving treatement by St John Paramedics at the scene of a crash between a car and mini tanker.

A Pete's Takeaway mini tanker and another vehicle were involved in a crash on Ohauiti Road just before 11.30am.

A reporter at the scene says the crash took place at the intersection of Ruahine Street and Ohauiti Road.

Police and ambulance were called to the scene at around 11.30. No fire service was required.

"An elderly female driver from the second car was seen to by paramedics in the ambulance."

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash between a car and a mini tanker on Ohauiti Rd this morning.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the crash has deployed the airbags in one of the vehicles, and it is not believed to be blocking the road at the intersection of Ruahine St.

It's unclear how bad the crash is and how many people are involved.

A reporter on the scene says police and St John Paramedics are at the scene.
