Police investigating Papamoa stabbing

A man was taken to Tauranga Hospital with minor to moderate injuries after he was stabbed during an assault in Papamoa Beach.

In a statement, a police spokesperson says it's understood the victim was stabbed at Topaz Reserve and then assaulted again at a nearby residential address late on Friday afternoon.


Police understand the man was stabbed in Topaz Reserve and then further assaulted at a nearby residential address on Friday at about 4.43pm.

'Police and ambulance were called to an address at Papamoa Beach at 4.43pm.

'Investigations around exactly what happened are ongoing. A 35-year-old man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.”

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed either the stabbing at Topaz Reserve or the assault at the Papamoa Beach address to contact their local police station.
