More rain for the Bay

It's going to be a soggy start to Thursday as heavy rain continues to pelt the Bay of Plenty.

A severe weather watch remains in place, and has been in place for the last couple of days, for periods of heavy rain through to Friday morning.

The MetService says a moist easterly flow is moving over the North Island until Friday, and rain likely to continue in the northeast from the Coromandel Peninsula to Hawke's Bay.

'This rain could be significant, especially in areas where ground conditions are already saturated.

'The largest accumulations are expected to be in Gisborne (north of the City) and about the Coromandel Peninsula, where a warning is in force.”

In the Bay of Plenty, west of Whakatane, periods of heavy rain from Wednesday night through to Friday morning.

We are floating away up here in the Kaimai Range. The rain is relentless. Feeling for my friends over in Adelaide who are also weathering a storm.
