Morning police raid in Te Puke

An early morning raid at a Te Puke address left some residents wondering what was happening.

A reader contacted SunLive via Facebook this morning to say there were police and firefighters at an address on Norm Freeman Drive.

She says there was also a police dog unit and a police communications van at the scene.

According to a police spokesperson, 'police were executing a search warrant”.

'The officers and units there are there as a routine precaution.”

She says there is no risk to the public.

As the operation is still being carried out, there is no other information available at this stage.

you would have to live under a rock to wonder what was going on at that hour when police and dogs arrive in the street.....
