A 23-year-old man will appear in Manukau District Court today charged with murder.
This is in relation to a fatal shooting in Manurewa over the weekend.
The man also faces a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police can now also release the name of the victim, he was 32-year-old Leslie Putt of Manurewa.
"Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time," says a statement from police.
