A Tauranga man with breathing difficulty had to be flown to Tauranga Hospital this morning.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Matakana Island when the man began having trouble breathing as a result of a serious medical condition, says pilot and base manager Liam Brettkelly.

'He was stabilised by the helicopter medic before being flown to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
'The helicopter was used because of access difficulties.”

Who would be so bored with life to count how many times the rescue helicopter goes to any one location. They do a great job and this may have saved a life. Give a donation instead of trying to be critical

living at the island you cant get to hospital via car/ambulance so how do you suppose they get to town for medical treatment??
