Vampire musical heading to Tauranga

A musical featuring hospital vampires, witches and ghosts stalking the corridors of Tauranga Hospital is coming to the Bay of Plenty this month.

A Matter of Taste tells the tale of a vampire family who immigrate to New Zealand, fall on hard times, and are forced to join the human workforce in order to make ends meet.

Written by playwright Andrea Kidd, it features a cast and crew made up of Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospital staff and friends, and will take to the stage at at Tauranga's 16th Ave Theatre from September 29 to October 1.

A Bay of Plenty District Health Board spokesperson says all proceeds will go towards a staff project selected by the audience members.

A Matter of Taste follows the young Griselda who signs on as a haematologist at Tauranga Hospital, but the witches among the staff are not about to let someone so different influence their turf. Meanwhile Grandpapa Vampire emerges from a painting to stalk the corridors of the hospital.

The BOPDHB proudly presents A matter of Taste which is on stage at Tauranga's 16th Ave Theatre, from Thursday, September 29, to Saturday, October 1.
