Crash blocking Chapel Street on-ramp

UPDATED: Emergency services are dealing with a two vehicle crash that is blocking the Chapel Street intersection this afternoon.

Police were called to the crash just before 2pm.


The front end of a courier van has been damaged in the crash.


A reporter at the scene says two vans have collided.

"The courier van has been smacked quite solidly on the front and the other van has frontal damage from what I could see.

"It was hard to see if it was a head-on collision or not."

At least one driver is being treated by St John Paramedics at the scene.

The crash is blocking the intersection, but traffic is still flowing around the crash.

Motorists are being asked to be patient as emergency services work to clear the scene.

Reports are coming in of a crash blocking Chapel Street.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a van and car have crashed near the Chapel Street on-ramp.

It's unclear if anyone if injured, but the crash is reported to be blocking at least one lane.

Motorists are asked to either avoid the area or drive with care as emergency services deal with the scene.

at a controlled intersection,time to take the blind folds off and start concentrating......
