Community board grants announced

Sixty community organisations across the Coromandel's five community board areas have been successful in their applications for the latest batch of community grants.

Events featured highly in the list of successful applicants during this latest funding round, says a Thames-Coromandel District Council spokesperson.

'But there were recipients from voluntary installation of smoke alarms for at-risk homes, through to funding towards a large bird rehabilitation enclosure for Kuaotunu Bird Rescue.”

Each of the five community board areas has a contestable grants pool to encourage and support not-for-profit organisations which have a positive impact on the community.
