Powering through the competition

Clean and Jerk isn't a term you'd think would be used a lot in Tauranga but it's definitely getting a lot of use today and tomorrow thanks to the North Island Weightlifting Championships.

Eleven Western Bay athletes are competing in the two day event which got underway this morning.

More than 80 entries from around the North Island have entered the event being held at the Bay of Plenty Strength and Conditioning on Newton Street, Mount Maunganui.

Supported by TECT, Industrial Athletic and First Credit Union the competition will begin again tomorrow at 9am.
