Update: 3.50PM: After an earlier appeal for sightings, Central District Police can report that 35-year-old Christopher Muir has been found and arrested this afternoon.

The man was found in the Marton area and will appear in Whanganui District Court tomorrow on multiple charges.

Police would like to thank the public for their help in locating the man.

Central District Police are looking for Christopher Muir who is wanted to arrest.

The 35-year-old is believed to be hitchhiking from the Marton area, possibly heading to Wellington.

Police would like to warn people, the man is dangerous and should not be approached.

Police say the alleged was involved in an incident in Marton on Sunday night when he reversed a stolen vehicle into a Police car before fleeing on foot.

The officer driving the Police car was treated for bruising and whiplash at Whanganui Hospital.
