Tauranga locals were treated to a grand-visual display at the Winter Nights/Winter Lights, laser lights and fire show last night.

The two day event got underway it the most spectacular fashion with thousands of locals packing the Tauranga waterfront to take in the show.

With great food and the first show fully packed out Tauranga local Christian Froehlich says it was a 'big success”.

The event is free to the public and tonight's show on The Strand is set to get underway at 5pm and runs until 10pm.

Shows run every 30 minutes so there will be plenty for spectators to take in while enjoying some of the local cuisine.
