Mount Maunganui continues to lead the way in the Baywide Club Rugby premier one division after a narrow 17-13 win over Te Puke Sport yesterday.

The Mount sit top of their division with 14 points but there is a real tussle for the remaining top four positions with Te Puna and Rangataua each on nine points with Tauranga Sports just one point behind them.

Rangataua join Te Puna second equal on the points table after beating them 24-0 yesterday. While Tauranga Sport edge closer to the top with a victory over Rotoiti 12-5. In the other result in the division Greerton had a narrow win over Whakatane Marist 18-17.

In the premier two division Whakarewarewa lead the division with 15 points after thrashing Arataki 67-21.

Paroa (13 points) are second after a convincing 19-0 win over Waikite. Poroporo who are third on the table also sealed a victory with a 13-7 win over Ngongotaha and Opotiki round out the top four after beating Marist St Michael's 33-5.
