Bay tourist attraction recognised

A Bay of Plenty tourist attraction has been given the tick of approval by international travellers winning the Grand Pacific Tours High Distinction award.

Grand Pacific Tours are New Zealand's coach holiday specialists bringing about 5500 travellers to New Zealand each year and have recognised Skyline Rotorua for their high standard of work with a high distinction award.

The awards are based on traveller scoring for the 2015/2016 touring season a Skyline Rotorua media release says.The awards were announced on Saturday May 28, at Grand Pacific Tours 20th anniversary celebration in Melbourne with a large contingent of New Zealand suppliers and crew.

'We have hosted Grand Pacific Tours guests to the best views, luge and breakfast in Rotorua for 20 years. The award is testament to our dedicated staff and the enthusiasm and energy they put into ensuring travellers have the holiday of a lifetime,” says Skyline Rotorua general manager Bruce Thomasen.

'Grand Pacific Tour holidays are all inclusive, meaning travellers can relax knowing everything is taken care of and it is our job to make sure that we not only meet expectations, but exceed them.”

The award ceremony was followed by Skyline Rotorua's Stratosfare Restaurant receiving four nominations in the 2016 Rotorua Hospitality Awards.

Nomination categories include: outstanding chef, emerging chef, front of house star and outstanding bartender. The awards night will be held on July 17, at the Energy Events Centre.
