Police have arrested two people overnight in relation to the unexplained death in Mt Wellington early yesterday morning.

A 21-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, both from Otahuhu, have been charged with the assault of the victim says Detective Senior Sergeant Colin Higson.

Colin says the pair will be appearing in court in Manukau tomorrow.

Further charges are possible as police are still continuing with their inquiries and working to identify and locate others involved in the attack.

Colin says police are still appealing for anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
