Todd has recently returned from China where there is a demand for high-quality New Zealand produce.

'I acknowledge the hard working kiwifruit growers in the area whose dedication has seen a great result for the 2015/16 season.

'I believe the best is still yet to come as more markets want our kiwifruit.”

Todd has also praised local grower's resilience towards adapting and driving significant recovery following PSA.

"This impressive turnaround in the kiwifruit industry is a direct result of the determination of local growers. "If ever a demonstration of the importance of the single desk was required it's the achievements of this industry since PSA."

Todd says the kiwifruit industry is a major contributor to the local economy, which is set to further benefit from increased sales.
