Walk for Wishbone Trust

An impressive $28,000 has been raised for The New Zealand Wishbone Trust.

On Sunday, May 15, more than 150 walkers took part in the biennial Joint Effort walk at the Grace Orthopaedic Centre.

Friends and families began their walk on the sunny Saturday morning all in aid of raising funds for Orthopaedic Research to be administered by the Wishbone Trust.

The walk is an opportunity to the return to mobility for joint replacement recipients from across the region and has always had a huge amount of support, says Orthopaedic Services manager Terri McGreevy.

It was also a chance for patients and consultants to catch up during the walk or over a cuppa after the event.

The walkers were led through the Grace Hospital Campus by local orthopaedic surgeon Richard Keddell accompanied by trumpeter Darrell Dalglish.

The Grace Orthopaedic Centre want to give a huge thank you to those who took part, sponsored the walkers or kindly donated money or their time to help out on the day.
