Surf Lifesaver’s court trouble

A Tauranga surf lifesaver has landed himself in hot water with Australian authorities after allegedly discarding a salad out of a moving vehicle.

Australian media have reported, Kane Jacob Sefton, 17, one of New Zealand's top surf lifesavers has pleaded guilty to wilful damage in relation to an incident which occurred at Alexandra Headland, Australia.

The teenager was also charged with two counts of common assault after allegedly discarding a tub of coleslaw out of a moving vehicle which hit a parked vehicle, splattering some of the content on to a father and his four-year-old daughter who were in the car on Alexandra Parade about 3.10pm, last Sunday.

His common assault matters were adjourned on Friday so his defence solicitor could make submissions to the police prosecution.

The court heard Sefton was due to return to New Zealand yesterday.

Deserves everything he gets for this filthy act. How would he react if someone did that to him or his family?
