A driver was taken to hospital after crashing into a garage door.

St John Paramedics were called to the single vehicle crash on 7th Ave, around 2pm.

The hatchback vehicle had crashed into a garage breaking the door and spouting.

'The impact popped airbags in the car,” says a reporter at the scene.

Concrete chucks were also taken out of the wall of the garage as a result of the impact.

It's unclear what injuries the driver sustained or how the crash happened.

Police were called to the scene and are investigating the matter.

...quite hard to know what to say when you see this, and the report does not help at all. "it's unclear how the crash happened"?...clearly the car hit something well before the garage door, and judging by the tyre marks in the picture, the vehicle was travelling "at pace". My best guess is, this is NOT the garage this driver normally resides at, and perhaps was a medical or just maybe a mechanical failure. But then, we will never get to know will we? I guess the "chucks" of concrete are "chunks"?..that doesn't add to Mr Campbell's report. No "rocket science" here I suspect, although I truly hope all worked out well in the end for those involved.....
