Gull dropped fuel prices today by three cents a litre at all its company controlled outlets.
'Looking at the prices the oil companies have set, in neighbourhoods where Gull isn't, they have an average range of $1.769 to $1.799 for regular, and for diesel 92.9 to 95.9 cents per litre,” says Gull General Manager Dave Bodger.

'This differs from our average by a minimum of 15 cents per litre for regular and 14 cents per litre for diesel.”
The reason for the drop in price is because International refined fuel prices have fallen enabling Gull to pass on these lower prices.
'Plus we've been very lucky in our recent foreign exchange trades and our attitude is to pass this on to the motorists,” says Dave.
'For what we see as the absolute best price around try our site at Atiamuri on State Highway 1, North of Taupo – the petrol there is just under $1.50 per litre and that includes around 87 cents per litre in various taxes.
'Diesel's not bad either at 62.9 cents per litre.”

Made an incorrect post last week stating reg should be as low as $1.25 but i should have posted $1.45 so still more room to move yet

Mobil in Chaple Street in Tauranga is selling Diesel for less than .69 per litre. The other service stations are followers and by a long way. Truth be known they are all still making a lot of money off the poor motorist.

Don't forget the Government cgets The fuel excise portion includes: 59.524 cents - National Land Transport Fund 6.90 cents - ACC Motor Vehicle Account 0.66 cents - Local Authorities Fuel Tax 0.045 cents - Petroleum or Engine Fuels Monitoring Levy In addition, GST is collected on the overall price of fuel including excise. The GST on excise amounts to a 10 cents per litre "tax on tax"
