Traffic delays on Hewletts Rd

UPDATED: Police are investigating the cause of a crash which is causing traffic delays on Hewletts Road this morning.

A truck and trailer curtain sider and car crashed, just west of Aerodrome Road, shortly before 11am.

A reporter at the scene says the car suffered damage to one of its side panels and is now parked on the side of the road.

"St John Paramedics are at the scene, but no one appears to be seriously injured."

Police are at the scene and are speaking with both drivers involved in the crash.

Earlier:

A crash between a car and truck is causing traffic delays on Hewletts Road.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the crash is west of Aerodrome Road.

"The crash is blocking the westbound lane. There appears to be no injuries."

People are being asked to be patient or avoid the scene as emergency services work to clear the scene.

This is the second crash for the day, after two cars crashed head-on on SH29, near Poike.
