Yet another 'political promise'

Labour leader Andrew Little, has announced a multi-billion dollar ‘three years free tertiary studies' for all Kiwis. Yet another ‘off the shelf' political promise.
Better that he, as a hopeful government leader, set up a Royal Commission to research and promote the true history of the first cultures to reach NZ.
This task is now made very easy by the internationally accepted method of DNA testing.
The facts are out there, and they are not what has been taught through the education system over the past 40 years.
We have thousands of new entrants into the education system at this time and they will all be taught the untruthful history that Polynesian Maori were the first inhabitants of NZ.

of course little couldn't think that the students over the past number of years, deeply indebted, may feel hard done by when the next intakes get it all free! Anyone thinking there won't be trouble is dreaming. What a clot the man is.

How would the Labour Party actually fund this?

If you give with one hand, then you usually have to take away with the other hand. This would certainly be the case in this scenario, government taxes would only cover so much. Once this proposal was accepted it would be a forever-thing and cost several small fortunes. Perhaps they could do away with some of the politician's perks such as free travel for retired pollies although that would not provide anywhere near the funds required. I agree with the writer's comments about school children being taught untruthful history. It is a crime that the real history of NZ has been allowed, to be white-washed.
