Serial flasher exposes more crimes

A serial flasher has admitted indecently exposing himself two more times in the Coromandel last month.

Michael Bruce Bell, who has previously been jailed for flashing, appeared briefly in the Hamilton District Court on Thursday, where he pleaded guilty to 'intentionally and obscenely exposing his genitals".

The incident happened near Marine Parade in Cooks Beach on January 13, and again on January 17 on Otama Beach, near Kuaotunu.

He was remanded in custody until his sentencing date on March 15.

Bell was jailed for two months in August 2014 for similar offending, after being arrested earlier that year in a police sting in which officers posed as holidaymakers.

When Bell was sentenced in 2014, Thames-Coromandel police area manager Senior Sergeant Graham Shields said it wasn't the first time he had been convicted for exposing himself in public and he was pleased to see him jailed.

'Those people who have been victimised by him, it's quite traumatic, quite creepy. He preys on young women. It's quite scary for them.”

This low life is a menace to society and should be given a long custodial sentence!
