Waihi man missing since Friday

Police are appealing to the public for help to locate an elderly Waihi man who has been missing since Friday.

Senior Sergeant Damion Rangitutia says 75-year-old Ronald Collis was last seen driving his Silver 2005 Nissan Bluebird in the Waihi area on Friday, January 29.

Roland is described as Caucasian, approximately 1.8m tall and weighing about 107kg. When last seen, he was wearing a light blue polo shirt, fawn-coloured shorts and black slippers.

He also has a distinctive haircut – Ronald is balding on top of his head and what hair he does have is white, short around the sides and shoulder-length at the back.

Other distinguishing features include tattoos on his forearms and large scars on both knees.

The missing man also has an interest in trains and ships and has been known to frequent both the Waihi and Tauranga areas.
