Truck's fuel tank ruptured in crash

Slight delays are expected on Chapel Street this morning following a crash between a car and truck.

The two vehicles collided at the lights around 9.30am.

A reporter at the scene says the impact of the crash burst the truck's diesel tank, with some of it spilling onto the road.

'City council contractors have laid absorbent grit to prevent the spilled diesel entering the drains, and the remaining fuel in the truck's tank is being pumped out.

'No one was injured in the crash, which involved red Ford four door and the truck and trailer unit.”

Who pays for the cleanup?

I hope the driver of the car gets sent the bill for cleaning up the diesel spill that they caused.
