Every one of the 330 pupils at Tauriko Primary has a role in the production, which opens on Wednesday (November 25) at 7pm. There's also a matinee on Thursday (November 26) at 12.30pm as well as the evening show.

'There's adventure in the air to be sure, as the crew leave Mother England with their mysterious orders, setting out for the wild and uncharted seas of the south-east,” says Patrice.

'Can the crew work together to get to Tahiti in time for the transit of Venus? Will they starve on their voyage before they reach land?

'Shmook and his merrily boisterous crew tame the oceans, read the skies and even fight a terrifying sea beasty or two.”

Tickets which are available on the door and cost $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12.
