Thomas Chris Lang, 63, has been remanded in custody after being accused of killing former model Maureen Boyce.

He appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday morning, where he was described as being on the verge of tears and sitting with his head in his hands.

Deputy Chief Magistrate Terry Gardiner told Lang he would be required to reappear in Brisbane Magistrates Court 18, via video link, at 9am on November 30 for a committal mention.

No plea was entered and he was remanded in custody until his next appearance.

It's reported that Lang had gone to Brisbane for love and was arrested on Friday night and taken to Dutton Police Station for extensive questioning over Maureen's death.

This followed a 12-hour questioning period which took place on Thursday.

Maureen's body was found on Thursday morning in her Kangaroo Point sub-penthouse.

She had a single stab wound to her abdomen.

Lang's relationship to the former model was unclear, except for police confirmation that he was staying in the Macleay Towers apartment and knew Maureen “quite well”, the Brisbane Times reports.

It's understood, however, that the pair had been in a romantic relationship many years ago and that may have been rekindled.
